Printed exclusively in Venice.
Made in conjunction with solo exhibition Venezia/Venduta/Contemporanea, Martin Brown 2019.
The artwork was made during the Artist's residency, at the time of the 58th Venice Biennale.
The work was intended as a very dark image where details of historical references slowly emerge from the darkness in a very close tonal range. Harking back to earlier nocturne paintings. It was also the intention that the image almost resembled Malevich's black square as a direct reference to modernism.
Due to the careful individual hand wiping of each impression, each print varies slightly
