Restoration, Coronation Hall Lennox Street 2000

original graphite and watercolour on stonehenge paper

28.5cm x 38cm

Restoration of Coronational Hall on Lennox Street Newtown.

The building was originally built to commemorate the coronation of King George V in 1911. Positioned on the same street near the studios on Lennox street in Newtown, Sydney.

At the time it was being restored and was covered in scaffolding on one side.

This is one of the early drawings demonstrating an interest in scaffolding. where the scaffold echoes a modernist grid structure imposed onto the historical façade

the paper has some slight damage repaired on one side
