This edition was made in conjunction with solo exhibition Venezia/Venduta/Contemporanea, Martin Brown 2019, and during the Artists residency at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica.
The exhibition ran concurrently, with the opening weeks of the 58th Venice Biennale.
The work was intended as a very dark image where the details of history slowly emerge in a very close tonal range. referencing earlier nocturne paintings. It was also the intention that the image almost resembled Malevich's black square as a direct reference to modernism.
Due to the careful individual hand wiping of each impression, each print varies slightly
